What we sell

Everyday clothing and footwear for women and men. On the women's side that means floral dresses, blouses and long tops, skirts, dungarees, swimwear and co-ord sets. On the men's side, shirts, t-shirts and polos, shorts and trousers. Across both, a footwear range built around loafers, mules, sandals, sneakers and breathable everyday shoes.

We are not a formalwear label and we are not a technical sportswear brand. What we do is the middle of a wardrobe — the pieces that get worn on an ordinary Tuesday.

How the store came about

Lily Chicago started from a straightforward observation: most people are not shopping for a statement piece. They are looking for a shirt that fits properly, a pair of shoes that can be walked in all day, a dress that works for more than one occasion. That part of the market is well served at the very cheap end and at the very expensive end, and oddly thin in between.

So we built the range around wearability rather than around a season. We keep the catalogue tight on purpose. Every item has to earn its place by being something a real person would reach for repeatedly, not once.

We sell online only, which keeps our costs down, and we pass that back through free standard shipping on every order rather than through a discount that only appears if you spend enough.

To make well-made everyday clothing and footwear easy to buy and easy to live with, at a price that does not require a compromise on either fit or fabric.

Our vision

A wardrobe where nothing sits unworn. We would rather sell someone five things they use constantly than fifteen things that cycle to the back of a closet.
